It's all about the meat. When local production company Ocean Entertainment was approached by the digital cable channel MenTV to come up with a new new way of looking at cooking, they put Sheridan College grad and first time director Joshua Hannigan on the case. His goal was to integrate food, fire and fun over 65 half-hour episodes, and complete them in six weeks in an old house in the south end of town. Hannigan, who has been in Halifax three years, compares the show to Red Green, Tom Green, and South Park, but I'm sure the producers don't want viewers to lose their appetites. The show will cover culinary topics like bachelor parties, hangover cures and building hubcap barbecues. Hosted by resort chef John Pritchard and UPEI grad Melissa Carson, Red Hot & Ready is not your daddy's cooking show. See if the show reaches its Maxim potiential when it debuts on March 18.
